🚨From Influencer Fame to Scammer Shame: The Brittany Dawn’s Story🚨

Remember Brittany Dawn?

Me neither, really.

She's a fitness influencer who hangs out on the parts of the internet that I do not.

I know her story because she has been ordered to pay $400,000 in a settlement with the state of Texas, and I can't pass up a good scammer story.

But is Brittany really a SCAMMER?

Honestly, its a tale as old as time.

👉Influencer gets a massive following.

👉Influencer wants to profit off of massive following.

👉Infuencer sells way more than they can handle and doesn't have the systems to support it.

(my other favorite influencer scam of this nature is TanaCon)

So what was the deal?

🤲 Brittany Dawn promised her followers:

  • personalized fitness plans

  • personalized nutrition plans

  • one-on-one coaching + check-ins

👎 What her customers reported receiving instead:

  • Identical or generic plans

  • no check-ins

  • no one-on-one time

I am guessing Brittany never intended to rip everyone off, destroy her fan base and reputation, and pay almost half a million dollars to Texas.

What happened is Brittany sold her vision without the systems to support them.

👉 Here's what she could have done differently:

  • an automated onboarding process that places her clients in a database, making it easy to track them.

  • a project management tool that kept her and her team on track so they knew what to deliver to each customer and when.

  • an SOP library with documentation so her team knew exactly the process for delivering to clients

  • A system for sorting and responding to refund requests

When the client journey systems are in place, all that's left for the business owner is to show up and do what they do best.

You may not have the massive following of a fitness influencer like Brittany (YET?), but...

As your business grows, you’ll still need rock-solid systems to support your clients.
