How I pay my salary with referral marketing πŸ«±πŸΌβ€πŸ«²πŸΎ

My business is fueled by referrals and community. LinkedIn + newsletters are just a form of nurturing my existing connections.

Relationships are how I pay my salary every year.

πŸ’‘Every day this week I'm going to give you another one of my tips for building a referral-based business.

They stack on top of each other so PAY ATTENTION!

As you might have guessed - this means a loooottt of coffee chats.

When I’m in a "networking phase", I can do 50+ virtual coffees in a month πŸ˜…

(I get this isn't feasible for everyone - you don't have to be a hyper-extrovert like me to get the similar results)

So how do I manage all of these calls and still get all my work done?

TODAY's TIP: Pick one day to be a coffee chat "marathon".

  1. Pick your day (mine is Tuesday)

  2. Determine how many calls you can take before getting wiped out. (I can do 10 calls in one day. Yours might be less and that's OK.)

  3. Keep the chats short and STICK TO IT. (My chats are 25 minutes long. At the 25-minute mark, I wind things down and make plans for keeping in touch)

  4. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Don't do ANY other work on this day.

On Tuesdays, I don't do any client work.

I check my email once in the morning and then ignore it until Wednesday.

I peek at Slack in between calls to answer urgent questions only.

Your goal is to connect with others on this day.

Make that day all about people, and I promise it’ll feel worth it.
