Hot take: Wedding planning is so inefficient

Recently, I helped a friend with the tech components of planning their wedding.

One of the tasks involved emailing guests to collect their addresses so we could snail mail them invitations. These invitations included a QR code directing them to a link on their computer.

I asked: why not just email them the link initially and skip the post office completely?

Just mail an invitation to grandma/grandpa who doesn't own a computer and save yourself some postage.

Response: "This is just how weddings are done!"

As you can imagine, this added yet another tedious chore to an already hectic planning process.

It also resulted in even more annoying follow-ups with guests whose invitations got lost in the mail 🙃

If you know me, you can understand how difficult it was for me to watch this unfold.

But more often than not, we stick to the ways we’ve always done things.

And frankly - that sucks

Because the approach that worked when you made your first $50K is not the same one you should use when you hit your first $150K.

Onboarding a few one-on-one clients is far simpler than onboarding 5, 10, or even 100 in a group program.

Once your business starts to get legs, you don't have time for all of the admin that surrounds the actual work you need to do with your clients.

If you are feeling this, it might be time to ask yourself: Are your processes still serving you effectively, or are they causing unnecessary stress?

Its time to map out your current processes and improve them.
