How to make your coffee chats COUNT âïļ
Not all coffee chats are created equally.
As a self-proclaimed "aggressively friendly extrovert", I can sometimes have coffee chats just to have them ð
It took me a long time to figure out how to
find the RIGHT people for me to connect with
how to INVITE them to that coffee
and keep the relationship going
ðĄEvery day this week I'm going to give you another one of my tips for building a referral-based business.
They stack on top of each other so PAY ATTENTION!

Yesterday I wrote about how to stay present during your networking calls.
Today's tip: Find the Golden Goose, not the Golden Egg ðŠŋ
Your ideal client is the Golden Egg. This is not your focus when networking.
Your job is to find the Golden Goose.
This is the person that brings you the Golden Eggs over and over again.
Landing on a coffee chat with your Golden Egg is nice. But it's even nicer if that coffee chat is the result of a warm intro from your Golden Goose.
Once you figure out who those people are, inviting them to a Coffee Chat is easy:
"Hi! I think we might serve the same clients. I would love to get to know more about you, your business, and who you serve to see if we could collaborate and potentially refer to each other. Here's my coffee chat scheduler if you are interested + available!"
The key to this working - you have to be a Golden Goose, too!
Here's how -
During your coffee chat - your focus is to see how you can help this person. This is important!
Ask lots of questions to make sure you really understand their business and who they serve.
Figure out if your ideal client works with them before working with you, after working with you, or both!
And, this is important, make sure you know how to introduce them to potential clients.
If you read my post yesterday on taking notes after a coffee chat, everything about this person will now live in your Automated Relationship Database Tracker!
Now, whenever you need to give someone a referral, you can just CTRL+F some keywords in your Relationship Database Tracker! and make the intro!
For all of this to work, you gotta keep track of those connections. You need my Automated Relationship Database Tracker.
