Leaving your neighborhood isn't as far as it seems 🏃🏻♀️
I recently started running. In fact, I’m dictating this while running - so if it reads a little breathless, now you know why 😅.
One of the things that has shocked me about running is how it changed my understanding of distances.
So I know walking from my house to the end of my street heading south is just under a mile.
Walking north in the other direction takes me to Hawthorne - the hopping street in my quadrant of Portland with the most shops, cafes, restaurants, fun, etc.
This direction FEELS like 3 MILES because it includes:
• Crossing the big four-lane road
• Walking over the train tracks (this often means using the walking bridge because trains run CONSTANTLY)
• Passing through 3 different neighborhoods
GUESS WHAT I LEARNED FROM TRACKING MY DISTANCE NOW THAT I RUN EVERY MORNING?!

I walk to Hawthorne multiple times a week, but crossing those busy roads and train tracks makes it feel so much farther away.
In reality, it’s not.
It’s just that the journey is a bit more complicated.
And its totally worth it to get to all the fun stuff on Hawthorne instead of just staying in my neighborhood.

The journey seems long,
and you might have to cross the walking bridge because a train is usually running, and that's exhausting.

Hawthorne has so much more to offer—shops, cafés, new experiences—just like a new, well-built system brings efficiency and opportunities to grow your business.
Getting to the next phase in your business is not as far away as it seems.
And that’s what I do—I help clients cross that metaphorical busy street and navigate the unfamiliar tools so they can make the leap into a bigger, better neighborhood for their business.

And for fun - here's me and a teeny tiny frog who hopped away shortly after this photo was taken 🐸
