One person on your team? Read this! 🛶
Significant UPDATE to a previous email:
the three stages of business have now become FOUR!
(and this new stage is the one I work with the most. If you find that’s you - let's hop on a call ASAP)
If you need a refresher on what the stages of business according to Dev are:
🏄 Solo Surfer: The initial stage of business where you navigate solo, embracing the agility and adaptability of a lone entrepreneur, overcoming challenges, and staying fast and loose.
🛥️ Boat Captain: As your business grows, you transition to captaining a boat, managing a crew, meeting increased demand, and implementing tight systems for more complex operations.
⛴️ Yacht Rock: In the mature phase, Yacht Rock signifies a business with many activities, focusing on innovation, market dominance, and maintaining exceptional customer experiences through enterprise-grade systems and advanced analytics.
But there's an essential pitstop between solo surfing and captaining a boat – the Canoe stage 🛶
In the Canoe Stage, you and one other person can:
easily coordinate paddling together, agile and nimble, much like the solo surfer.
navigate the waters easily, recover from setbacks,
and enjoy the flexibility of the solo surfer lifestyle.
However, as the saying goes, "Three's a crowd in a canoe."
As soon as you try to grow your team beyond you + one other team member, it becomes clear that an upgrade is in order if you want to venture further and seize greater opportunities.
So, what's the next step? Boat time!
🛶→ 🛥️
